This event is far more than just a competition; it’s the third, critically important stop in the prestigious ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Here, the world’s top athletes fight for valuable points needed to secure a spot at the exclusive Grand Prix Final, which will be held in Nagoya, Japan, this December. Expect sparks to fly and records to be threatened as the skaters unveil their programs across all four disciplines.

The Grand Prix Format: A Critical Stepping Stone

Skate Canada International is one of only six major events on the ISU calendar. Skaters competing in this series are selected based on their results from the World Championships and their global rankings. This competition is essential for athletes to test out their new programs, perfect technical elements under high pressure, and build momentum toward the Final.

Furthermore, with the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics just one season away, these Grand Prix events serve as the most important gauge of an athlete’s readiness for the Olympic year. Every performance provides crucial feedback and sets the tone for the rest of the season.
