However, he brings experience and offensive potential, having notched 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) with a +14 rating in 72 games last season. This trade comes in the final year of Maatta&#8217;s two-year contract with Detroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Utah Hockey Club is hoping Maatta can provide a defensive boost. Currently sitting at 4-4-2, they&#8217;ve struggled recently, losing six of their last seven games. They&#8217;ve also allowed at least four goals in six of their ten contests this season. With Maatta&#8217;s experience, they aim to shore up their defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Red Wings (4-4-1) are looking towards the future with this trade.
