It’s Goalie Week at NHL.com, and to celebrate, they’ve released their annual Super 16 goalie power rankings for the upcoming 2024-25 season! Here’s a breakdown of the top contenders:
Hellebuyck reigns supreme for the second year in a row. He’s a workhorse with a track record of excellence, leading the League in save percentage (.921) and ranking third in GAA (2.39) among goalies who played at least 30 games last season. His consistency is unmatched, having played in 60 or more games with a save percentage above .910 and GAA below 2.97 in each of the past three seasons.
Shesterkin boasts impressive stats over the past three seasons, ranking first in wins (109), second in save percentage (.921), and tied for second in shutouts (13). Despite a mid-season slump, he regained his form, proving himself as an elite goalie.
Swayman’s playoff performance last season has catapulted him into the top 3. His calmness and technical skill were on display with a stellar .933 save percentage and 2.15 GAA in 12 playoff games. With the starting role secured in Boston, all eyes are on Swayman to see if he can maintain this level.
This goalie ranking is based on a point system where voters rank their top 16 goalies. The complete rankings check on NHL.com.
