The Avalanche got off to a strong start, with Nathan MacKinnon scoring two goals in the first period. Logan O’Connor also found the net for Colorado in the opening frame. However, the Oilers responded with a goal from Viktor Arvidsson late in the first period to cut the lead to 2-1.

Edmonton continued their comeback in the second period with goals from Brett Kulak and McDavid to tie the game at 3-3. Bouchard then scored the go-ahead goal with a slap shot in the third period to seal the victory for the Oilers.

This win marks the first time in franchise history that the Oilers have recorded consecutive multi-goal comeback victories. McDavid’s goal was his 20th of the season, making him the fifth player in Oilers history to achieve nine consecutive seasons with at least 20 goals.

The Avalanche, on the other hand, have now lost three of their last five games. They will need to find a way to be more consistent if they want to contend for the Stanley Cup.
