Connor Bedard, the reigning Calder Trophy winner, is poised for another stellar season in the NHL. Despite missing 14 games last year due to injury, he still finished with an impressive 28 points in his final 29 games.
This season, Bedard is off to a hot start with seven points in six games. He’s forming strong chemistry with linemates Teuvo Teravainen and Nick Foligno, and the Blackhawks’ improved power play is also contributing to his success.
Bedard’s rookie campaign closely resembles that of Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews, both of whom experienced significant growth in their second seasons. While injuries hampered Matthews and MacKinnon in their sophomore years, Bedard’s early success suggests he has the potential to surpass their achievements.
With continued development and a healthy season, Bedard could be on track for an even more impressive sophomore campaign, potentially reaching the 80-point mark or even more. The future looks bright for this young superstar.
