The Vancouver Canucks overcame the loss of their leading scorer Brock Boeser to defeat the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Thursday night. Boeser left the game after taking an illegal check to the head from Kings forward Tanner Jeannot in the first period.

Despite the setback, the Canucks (7-2-3) managed to win their third straight game thanks to strong performances from several players. Quinn Hughes had a goal and an assist, while Jake DeBrusk scored for the third straight game and Conor Garland added a power-play goal. Kevin Lankinen made 26 saves in net for Vancouver.

The Kings, on the other hand, were unable to capitalize on Boeser’s absence and lost their first game in five home contests (3-1-1). Quinton Byfield scored for the second consecutive game for the Kings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Canucks’ offensive surge.
