The first period saw a back-and-forth battle, with Alex Vlasic giving the Blackhawks an early lead and Gabriel Vilardi tying the game for the Jets. Late in the frame, Alec Martinez restored the Blackhawks’ lead with his first goal of the season.

The second period saw the Jets find their stride. Nino Niederreiter tied the game, and Logan Cooley gave Utah the lead with a power-play goal.

The third period saw Utah solidify their lead. Jamie Drysdale had a goal initially ruled good for the Flyers, but it was overturned after a successful challenge by Utah. Shortly after, Kevin Stenlund scored a short-handed goal to extend Utah’s lead.

Despite a strong effort from the Blackhawks, the Jets ultimately secured the victory, spoiling Sorensen’s first game as head coach.

This win marks an important milestone for the Utah Hockey Club, demonstrating their growing momentum and ability to win on the road.
