5 Skills Named After Olympic Gymnasts
October 14, 2024

The Calgary Flames extended their undefeated streak to 3-0 with a convincing 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Rasmus Andersson led the way with a goal and two assists, while Justin Kirkland netted his first NHL goal in the win.
The Oilers, on the other hand, remain winless after three games. Despite an early lead from Jeff Skinner, Edmonton struggled offensively and couldn’t keep pace with the Flames in the later stages.
Calgary capitalized on Edmonton’s mistakes, with Andersson tying the game in the second period. Anthony Mantha and Kirkland scored in the third to put the game out of reach.
The win showcased the Flames’ strong start while highlighting the Oilers’ early season struggles. Edmonton will need to find a way to turn things around quickly as they look to avoid a deeper hole.
