The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 on Friday night, snapping their two-game losing streak. Seth Jarvis led the way for Carolina with two goals, while Pyotr Kochetkov made 29 saves to secure the victory.
The Golden Knights got off to a strong start, taking a 1-0 lead in the second period. However, the Hurricanes battled back, with Jarvis tying the game at 11:57 of the second period.
Carolina took the lead for good early in the third period when a centering pass by Jackson Blake deflected off the stick of Vegas defenseman Noah Hanifin and past Adin Hill. Jarvis added his second goal of the game a few minutes later to extend the lead to 3-1.
Vegas managed to pull one goal back on a power-play goal from Shea Theodore, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Hurricanes’ lead.
This win is a big one for the Hurricanes, who improve to 27-16-3 on the season. The Golden Knights, on the other hand, have now lost four of their last five games and will need to find a way to turn things around if they want to stay in contention for the Stanley Cup.
