The Buffalo Sabres rallied from a late-game tie to defeat the Calgary Flames 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night. Tage Thompson continued his hot streak, scoring his 10th goal of the season and extending his point streak to three games. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was a rock in net for the Sabres, stopping all three shots he faced in the shootout after making 24 saves in regulation.

The win marks the third straight victory for the Sabres (7-7-1), who overcame a sluggish start and capitalized on their power play opportunities. While Calgary battled back to tie the game in the third period, they were unable to convert on any of their three power play chances.

This road trip has been a mixed bag for the Flames (7-5-3) as all three games have gone to overtime. While they’ve shown resilience by battling back, their slow starts have proven costly. They’ll look to improve their first-period execution as they head back home.
