Wright Primed for Full-Time Role with Kraken

Seattle’s 2022 1st-rounder ready after whirlwind rookie season

Shane Wright, the Kraken’s 2022 1st-round pick, appears set for a full-time NHL role.

Last season, Wright bounced between the NHL, AHL, World Juniors, and the OHL. But with a strong showing in the AHL (47 points) and a taste of NHL success (5 points in 5 games), Wright feels ready to contribute at the highest level.

Kraken’s new coach, Dan Bylsma, who coached Wright in the AHL, sees the same potential.

“He established himself… played 72 games… his progression was evident.“

With familiarity with his coach and a successful AHL season under his belt, Wright is poised to make a significant impact for the Kraken this season.
